Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

GHKL - 22Coming from the purity, spirituality and serenity of Bali, we arrive to the frantic Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and nothing like a hotel with the Hyatt seal to enjoy a short stay in the city.

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is located right in the “centre of action” of the city, from our window we saw the imposing Petronas Twin Towers! Strategically located in the Golden Triangle, the location in Kuala Lumpur where business and entertainment take place, this hotel is adjacent to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and surrounded by the luxurious gardens of the city park, producing a beautiful light show in the evenings.

GHKL - 25As you know, for us, everything with the Hyatt seal has quality assurance, and the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur wasn’t the exception.

GHKL - 19First Impression
Kuala Lumpur is full of skyscrapers, and as we approached our hotel the quantity of those buildings just got denser. And Grand Hyatt was, as well, one of those huge buildings, perfect to climb and enjoy the views.

GHKL - 21
A hotel with a giant lobby, almost looked like a mall, with people coming and going, like a company building! The typical environment of a business hotel. As soon as we entered the lobby we were directed to the 39th floor, by a nice employee, where the actual reception was located and real action took place! Arriving we were immediately blown away by a breathtaking view over the city and the elegant Petronas.

Our check in was done without delays and we were forwarded to our bedroom.

GHKL - 2Bedrooms
We arrived at night, which made our view completely astonishing, the light of the towers illuminated in such a way it almost seemed like day, and the steal and glass of the towers reflected that light so perfectly I almost felt like touching the Petronas!

The bedroom, of contemporary style, similar to the rest of the hotel, was perfectly organized, the huge and comfortable bed was right in front of the big window with an amazing view to the city, inviting us to use it. Down there I could see what would be my partner in relaxation, the huge pool, and in the background, the light show in the city park, delighting us with its vivid tones and color combination.

The bathroom was cleverly separated from the bedroom by a glass betwen the transparent and the matte, also giving us a great view to the city.

As welcoming, there were fruits and sweets, and also tea and coffee, accessible throughout the stay.

The hotel, being humongous, has 370 bedrooms total, being 42 of them suites.

GHKL - 20Restaurants
Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur has three gastronomical spaces, Thirty8, JP peres and Poolside.

The first, as the name indicates, is located in the 38th floor, where we had one of the most complete breakfasts of our trip to Asia, and where we had the chance to have lunch with a 360º view over Kuala Lumpur, it serves, essentially, Western, Chinese and Japanese gastronomy.

On its turn, the JP peres, located in the entrance of the hotel, serves the best of the traditional Malaysian cuisine.

GHKL - 6
Last, but not least, the Poolside, a space that delights those who spend the entire day tanning by the pool!

GHKL - 9Services
As any other hotel of the excellent group Hyatt Hotels, o Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur has all the services able to satisfy all the needs of its guests, from the most general to the most peculiar.

From the Concierge, to the room service 24h we used and adore, laundry service, Wi-Fi, transport, among others.

GHKL - 30
The highlight is the Welness space, for its huge pool (for me it would be perfect in a Rooftop environment, but you can’t have it all can you?!) with a priviledged view to the Petronas Twin Towers, for its Fitness Centre that works 24h a day and presents innovative equipment for those wanting to stay in shape, besides custom classes with excellence professionals, for the Essa Spa that brings peace and serenity to those who enter in it, an experience to do solo or with our loved one.

GHKL - 16If you wish to enjoy a calmer moment, but delicious, the ideal place is the Thirty8 with its Afternoon Tea Delights. On the other hand, it’s also the ideal place for the evenings, with signature cocktails and live music.

GHKL - 27But this is, without doubt, a business hotel, reason why it was awarded with the Best Business Hotel in Kuala Lumpur award, in the 2015 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards, it has seven rooms equipped with all the luxury and sophistication needed for all types of events, congresses or conferences, and for different parties, like weddings for instance.

GHKL - 18Service
I honestly think everything that has the Hyatt signature has assured excellence and luxury, and the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur was no exception.

In a hotel with a financial nature so strong, and with such great dimmensions, we can’t expect to be pampered in an exaggerated way (that I love!), like in a smaller hotel, however, having this in account, nothing failed, much because the hotel has a considerable number of employees capable of making us feel accompanied during our stay.

GHKL - 24
Luxury is present in each detail, and affection as well, both in the nice employees that guide us to the 39th floor when we arrive and get lost in that giant entrance and the sweets waiting in our bedroom, and also the smiling employee that transformed a simple Room Service into a romantic dinner with a priviledged view to the Petronas!

I confess Kuala Lumpur wasn’t one of my top destinations, but this experience at Grand Hyatt enriched this short stay in the city quite a lot.

Another brilliant Hyatt!
